I’ve been playing a lot of Texas Hold ‘em recently with friends and online. I love how mathematical the whole thing is. Of course I make sure not to risk too much money — turns out there are a lot of more expensive ways to spend an evening.

At any rate, I think the reason that I find this game so interesting is the fact that it is so widespread, and yet easy to pick up and learn. I played for the first time about 3 months ago, now I try to play every week; twice if time permits.
