Where I currently work is 6.9 miles away from where I live. If I were to go on commute time alone, it would be hard to beat Dotster

Not that I’m currently looking for a job, but it’s good information to have.
Today was my first day as a programmer at Gift Tree. I’ll be doing PHP and Oracle development on Linux and OSX servers from an OSX workstation.
It looks to be a good fit for me. The technologies which I do not know are ones which I’ve wanted to learn for some time; namely Oracle and Mac OSX. The best part about the job is the proximity: it took 7 minutes to get to work, 15 minutes to get from work. This is a change from 1 hour to get to work, 1 hour 15 minutes to get from work. That’s an extra 53 minutes of sleep I get in the morning .
Friday, May 19th was my last day at Autodesk. It was a good two years, and I learned a lot. Thanks, Autodesk for the experience!
