Replacing Memory in Dell Vostry 1500
[fa:p:id=2460363261,j=l,s=m,l=p]
Garrett ordered 2×2GB PC5300 RAM for his Dell Vostro 1500, and asked me to upgrade him from the default 2×512MB. I followed a guide when I initially upgraded the memory on my Vostro 1500, and the same guide helped me out this time.
I gave him one of my 1GB sticks and took one of his 2GB sticks, so we have 3GB each. Ran a memtest on it, and all was well.

I also thought the upgrade process was fairly straight forward. The vostro is fairly well designed in that respect. I’m running 2 gig, and it has been fantastic. Have you noticed any significant performance improvement with 3?

Yea, I’ve definitely seen worse RAM install jobs.
I haven’t played with it enough at 3G to notice a difference, but I assume there will be little to not difference with XP; maybe with Vista.
