PSP Game Iso => Black Screen fix
I tried 4 game isos on my PSP with my new 4 gb card. At first two of them didn’t work, but I remembered something I learned awhile ago:
The fix to this is to go to the Recovery menu and
ENABLEDISABLE no-UMD (it is disabled by default). To do this, reboot the PSP while holding R, go to configurations, and change the no-UMD option. Once that was done, the games booted up perfectly! Apparently only some games work this way, others you actually need a game inserted to boot it.
Disabling no-UMD and putting a UMD game in the PSP allowed the other 2 isos to boot.

Yep, took me a little while to figure this one out too. There are only a few games that don’t seem to work with No-UMD mode but having a game in there wasting battery power just drives me nuts.

i have a problem with my psp. the problem is that it was updating and my little cusin ripped out the batery pack and now all it does is sit there with a black screen when you start it up. anyone know a fix for that?

Sorry for double post, i do have two questions…
1. When i put on a Syphon Filter: Logans Shadow .CSO on my psp, along with other isos and csos, it doesnt appear in my game directory… All the other ones do.
2. Crush freezes every time i try to start a new game, it works fine up to the point where i save my data and start for the first time.

I’m not really a source for information when it comes to PSP. For that, I’d check out irc://irc.efnet.org/psp
But I can answer #1 for ya, .iso games do not go into X:\game\, they go into X:\iso\ IIRC.

If anyone’s having a problem runnning renegade squadron change to no-UMD and then change your system language to spanish if you’re running the ESPALPSP version.

Hey i just downloaded PES 09 (Pro evolution Soccer 09) from ESPALPSP, I have tried changing lanuage to english and done everything, but it always comes up a black screen when i start the game,, plz anyone who has fixed a problem similar to mine heeelp?

just a tip
when you encounter a black screen on the game, just change the setting of ur clock xmb and clock game to default. you can do that by pressing select on main menu. hope this helps. try again the game if your configuration is on defauly and ISO mode is np9660.

i downloaded tekken 6.cso from pspiso.com and i try to play it on the psp,it starts but after the psp logo start it freezes up in a blak screen.ive set umd to m33 driver and set da xmb nd clock to default nd no luck.help anyone.

SAME!! Have you got the patched version of Tekken 6? I do and it still does that. As soon as the psp logo disappears, the black screen comes on and stays on!

OMG!! TEKKEN WORKS NOW!!! I just set the iso mode to M33 DRIVER and inserted a umd into the drive! HOWEVER… Gran Turismo Doesnt WORKKK!!!

I recently updated my psp (It’s not a slim and it’s the 6.31 version?)
and after I downloaded and installed the update all my Iso games can’t be found on the memorycard(4gb) I have absolutely no idea what to do to get it working again, Help would be really appriciated!

I think my PSP has problems with it. I checked the System Info and it read that I had Version 5.03 (and only that. No Gen-B or what not)
And I tried downloading Tekken 6 (patched it) and when I tried to play it, the screen jst went black.
Also, I can’t play games without this wierd-ass thing called “CFWE Enabler”. What is that?

well i thought this was a good chance…what i did when i got a black screen on my game ex: Dbz shin budokai 2 it just gpt stuck on the black screen..what i did was i just changed the language to something else for example spanish and i was like man thats not gonna work but when i clicked on the game it loaded completely..you should try that if you havent yet got it to work…note the game was downloaded in EBOOT.PBP format amd moved from psp/common to psp/game/makefolder/insert inside folder..didmt wanted to start changed te language and worked!! if this is somewhat of ypur problem try it good luck

also go to http://www.pspdlc.net then go to section psp download then psp game download and you can download psp iso cso and eboot.pbp file which i prefer bc you can isntall it threw the psp browser with a homebrew app that can move files from
folders in psp memory card.
