MAME: Television problems
I purchased a JVC av 2771s 27″ television with svideo for my MAME product.
We measured the display. We measured the cabinet. It won’t fit. We figured it would be a tight fit because the cabinet is designed for a 25″ display, but not fitting is a surprise to us. Pat said that he can do the required adjustments without major problems. He said that he plans to move the support for the display down a few inches. He’s already removed the old support, and now needs to to reinstall it.
Another problem, while testing the svideo display, we noticed that it is a little fuzzy. It’s clear on the bottom, but the top is just a little distorted. Pat said it was because the “blue gun is misfiring”, or something to that effect. We didn’t see an adjustment, even after removing the TV case. I loaded up a Golden Axe MAME rom, and I couldn’t even notice any problems.
So we’re going to proceed installing the new display support, and hopefully have it inserted and seated before the joysticks, buttons and keyboard encoder show up.
On a side note, I’m taking pictures of the events as it progresses, and commenting on each of the pictures, so be sure to check them out.
Total resources spent thus far: $206.61, 6.5 hours.

When you have the finished product, make sure you put up pictures as I would love to see it. I have always wanted to have my own arcade in my home.

I have a Magnavox TV Model 25tsc6 0101
Serial # 38153927
On the screen it gives the message: “this should be your next TV ” and procedes to give all the reasons why, sort of like advertising the brand of Magnavox.
What is the problem, does this mean the thing has died?

I’m having the same trouble as Paul Ho! I have a Magnavox TV model 25TSC6-0101 (same model as his) and during a video it just blinked out and started playing the same message… “Why this should be your next TV”, followed by all of the reasons why! Doesn’t respond to any power/remote buttons, and when you unplug the TV and plug it back in, the power comes on automatically with this message. Any ideas on what’s going on?
