How To Calibrate the Logitech Cordless Action Controller for PS2
I purchased my PS2 used over a year ago with two wireless controllers. One of my wireless controllers, a Logitech PS2 Cordless Action Controller had recently become misaligned. If nothing was touched on the controller, the character or pointer would wander seemlessly to the right.
After about 20 minutes, I found a way to recalibrate the joystick:
Question: How do I re-calibrate the Logitech Cordless Action Controller for PlayStation®2?
Answer:
Normally there is no reason to re-calibrate the Logitech Cordless Action Controller for PlayStation2. In rare cases where the mini-joysticks may need to be re-calibrated, you can use the process below. Please note that this process only works for the Logitech Cordless Action Controller for PlayStation2.
1. Remove one battery.
2. Hold the L1 and L2 buttons while re-inserting the battery. (NOTE: Do not touch or move the mini-joysticks at all during this time. It is very important that the mini joysticks are allowed to center themselves during this step or the calibration procedure will not be successful.)The mini-joysticks should now be re-calibrated. Please note that in some cases you may need to resynchronize the gamepad and receiver after this procedure. For more information on resynchronizing this device please see Knowledge Base Article 437.
Worked like a charm :).

Having jumped straight to the above after 20 minutes of frantic google searching for a solution I came across the above and thusly have no idea were it’s from or who posted it. Whoever you are though kind sir, I LOVE YOU! You are a saint among men, I bow at majestic aura of brilliance and would very much like to have your babies (please note I am a man)
I’ve just went through a month long saga of getting a replacement logitech pad only to find it too needed replaced due to being “faulty”. Having read these wonderful enlightening words I now have the problem fixed, will no longer need to await another ten days to pass as my RMA to be processed, and can go back to gaming on my beloved PS2.

Thank you so much for posting this! This recalibration info isn’t available ANYWHERE ELSE, not even on Logitech’s site. YOU ROCK!!!

It is available somewhere else, because my link above to the logitech site where the information originated is still valid.
It’s not impossible to find, just hard. At any rate, you’re welcome

Good to know people are getting use of this, makes me want to post more random tidbits I find helpful and fairly hard to find. Interesting to see that the original article that I linked to still exists, just a little non-obvious.
P.S. Looks like I’m #1 result for recalibrate ps2 logitech, and I’m sure other similar keywords as well. That’s neato.
