It’s the worst when you’re not looking at the screen, it pops up and you press “reset” inadvertently.

Unfortunately, now I’m using XP at work because the LTSP Server (http://ltsp.org/) is down. Right when I’m in the middle of debugging my app, that blasted pop-up tells me I need to restart. I better just give in and restart before I punch my monitor…

blah blah blah. VB dev my a$$ I am but I’m not. Work I do VB, home I do whatever I want. Oh yeah…I’m my own man…that’s right. Just don’t want people getting the wrong idea. I didn’t go to school to dev in VB and I certainly don’t plan on wasting my education doing so.

I hate automatic updates for Windows simply for this reason. Not to mention, a few times at work these auto-updates some how tweaked the computer so that audio wouldn’t work properly. Last thing I want is to update Windows and then spend time helping Windows realize that I do in fact have a soundcard attached. And the computer at work is fairly new so I have to blame Microsoft

I have found a decent solution to getting this message yet not wanting to restart: I click on the very top left corner of the message and drag it to the very lower right corner of the screen. This leaves just a small, barely noticeable section of the message still visible underneath the clock. And there it stays until I’m ready to restart the computer.
