Do you want to restart? Are you sure you don’t want to? Are you sure you don’t want to?
Whoever though up this message, that pops up every few minutes after you’ve done a windows update and not restarted, should be shot, revived, and shot again.

Seriously, I KNOW I need to restart, you’ve TOLD me that 100 times. Let me get work done without your annoying interferences…
To be fair, if you do a system update on a Mac, you can’t even close the update window without selecting “Shut Down” or “Restart”, a similar annoyance.
This might come as a surprise, but I don’t power on my computers for the sole purpose of updating them. If I’m doing something and they want me to update, I will. If it’s an annoyance, maybe I will no longer.

don’t be such a pansy. Just do what I do…setup a macro that clicks on it, clicks the restart later button, then returns your mouse position to where it was. You don’t even have to think about it that way and sometimes get lucky and don’t notice the

I refuse to alter my behavior for their annoying message.
Actually, what I do is hide it somewhere in the sides of the screen. Naturally it stays on top of everything but if it’s out of site, it’s not a problem.

shrug. whatever hides your problem.
I’d love to just stop using windows altogether, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be a choice atm. Maybe with enough hate mail we can get them to fix it though. Who’s up for writing an email bot? muhahahaha

I hate that as well.
Dear Window:
I understand the risks involved with me not rebooting now to install this very important update. I hereby waive any right to enter into legal suit against Microsoft or any Windows distributor for any damage caused by you LETTING ME GET SOME MOTHERFUCKING WORK DONE.
Disappointedly,
Unfortunate Windows User

I hate automatic updates for Windows simply for this reason. Not to mention, a few times at work these auto-updates some how tweaked the computer so that audio wouldn’t work properly. Last thing I want is to update Windows and then spend time helping Windows realize that I do in fact have a soundcard attached. And the computer at work is fairly new so I have to blame Microsoft
I have found a decent solution to getting this message yet not wanting to restart: I click on the very top left corner of the message and drag it to the very lower right corner of the screen. This leaves just a small, barely noticeable section of the message still visible underneath the clock. And there it stays until I’m ready to restart the computer.

RE: Ray
blah blah blah. VB dev my a$$ I am but I’m not. Work I do VB, home I do whatever I want. Oh yeah…I’m my own man…that’s right.
Just don’t want people getting the wrong idea. I didn’t go to school to dev in VB and I certainly don’t plan on wasting my education doing so.

Re: Bryan
That’s exactly what I do, haha.
Re: Nathan
Can you create a program for me in VB that hides this automatically? kthxbye
Nathan Said,

Unfortunately, now I’m using XP at work because the LTSP Server (http://ltsp.org/) is down. Right when I’m in the middle of debugging my app, that blasted pop-up tells me I need to restart. I better just give in and restart before I punch my monitor…

Weak.
It’s the worst when you’re not looking at the screen, it pops up and you press “reset” inadvertently.
