Canon EOS 400D
My camera is STILL broke… and now I have a Wii mod waiting on a new camera. So, I decided I’m going to buy a Canon EOS 400D, AKA the Digital Rebel XTi. Now, to look for a deal.
Also thinking about switching my photo gallery (uses gallery2) to using flickr. I like how I can upload the images at full size without downsampling (and not worrying that each one is 3MB+), but it doesn’t make it convenient to export from there, or download packs of the original photos.

I think flickr is a good choice. You don’t need to store the photos on your server. Also, most people don’t download photos, they just look at them online when desired.
Dude, a 10.10 megapixel camera?! Do you really need that kind of quality?

Yes, only because larger isn’t cheaply available.

Chris has a Rebel XTi. Got it in a package deal, with a zoom lense at Best Buy for ~$900.
It’s a great camera.

I had to pull a pile of images from Flickr a few weeks ago and ended up using an app called downloadr (http://www.flickr.com/groups/api/discuss/169135/). Did the trick in a pinch and it actually works pretty well.

Nice! OK, you sold me. Now I just need a script to convert from gallery2 to flickr — and of course a flickr Pro account.
BTW, I bought the 400D, it’s on its way.

It’s a nice device – make sure to buy the battery grip if you have big hands (or if you want to shoot in portrait a lot, or if you want the double battery life… ok there’s no reason not to get one).
