New Games, 7/28/05

It’s been awhile since my last new games post, mostly because I’ve been too busy and/or lazy to post ‘em. While I’m still having PS2 problems, I’m glad that my XBOX still works for some good ol’ class console gaming. I’ve almost completely given it up for playing dota on wc3, but when fun things get old, old things get fun!

Here are my latest games:
Iron Phoenix 4.1 ouch
Area 51 7.2
Medal of Honor European Assault 7.6
Close Combat First to Fight 7.5
Conker Live and Reloaded 8.3
Dead to Rights 2 6.8
Destroy All Humans 7.5
Forza Motorsport 9.2
Midnight Club 3 8.3
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 9.2
Psychonauts 8.8
Stolen 5.0
Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith 6.3
Worms 4: Mayhem not yet rated
King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 7.0
Sid Meier’s Pirates 8.6
NCAA Football 2006 8.8
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down not yet rated

Edit 8/1:
Lots of these didn’t work. I think I need to look into upgrading the bios for my modchip…

Google Code Jam

I think I’m going to participate in the 2005 Google code Jam 3, with Java as my language of choice.

Registration starts 7/25, and the qualification round is 8/22, where 500 will move on to the next round. Since this is open to everyone, I somewhat doubt that I will move on, but you never know. $10,000 first prize, and at least $750 to each the top 100 is enough incentive to at least give it a try.

The environment applet looks pretty cool.

Doom, the Movie

There is a movie coming out Oct-21-2005 based (loosely I’m sure) on the PC game Doom 3. The movie will star Karl Urban (Eomer from Lord of the Rings) and The Rock. There is a trailer available.

I’m not sure what to think about this. The last couple movies I watched that were based on games were just short of awful… and to be honest I’m getting turned off of crappy zombie movies.

Edit 7/27:
It looks like God of War (one of the best ps2 games right now) is also going to become a movie. I think that a fantasy or fightning game would make a much more enjoyable movie than yet ANOTHER zombie movie.

Engaged to be Married

While this announcement is officially 8 months late, Kessa and I have decided to get married.

We met in 2000; dated for awhile then called it quits until November 27th, 2001 when we decided to promise to each other that we would someday get married. It was a courting; pre-engagement.

Nearing three years later, I promised the 3 year mark would not come before I asked her to marry me. As you may or may not know, I’m quite the procrastinator… so I put it off until the very last day possible, November 26th, 2004! Of course, we got plenty of pictures.

We have now decided a time to get married [Sunday May 21, 2006], a place [Ambridge Event Center] and a honeymoon location[Alaskan Cruise]. The marriage date occurs about 3 weeks after we both graduate from the University of Portland. We’ll send out wedding invites (200+) when we’re 4 or 5 months away.

Eric Kleser Left

Eric Kleser has left back to Florida. We’ll see him again next year (or maybe X-mas/New years). We’ve added a few more pictures.
