How to cancel T-Mobile service early

Taken from SlickDeals.net forums.

This is if you currently have T-Mobile service, want to cancel it and not pay the early cancelation fee.

Starting next month all users will be billed an extra .86 for each line they have with t-mobile.

This is a change in the contract. What this means to you is that you have between March 1st and March 30th to call T-Mobile and say that you want to cancel your service and when they tell you that you must pay $175 or whatever $ cancelation fee you tell them that due to the change in the contract and the new fees you don’t have to pay the ETF (Early Termination Fee)

“This $0.86 fee per line will be charged in order to recover some of t-mobile’s costs related to government mandates, programs and obligations such as E911, number pooling and portability.”

So maybe now I can get rid of my 4 year old phone and get a newer one :)

Job Fair

There was a Job Fair at UP yesterday… that was an interesting exprience.

I heard a friend of mine had a resume, and they were probably accepting them at the job fair, so I spit one out in about 30 minutes.

First I go and find out that there is a dress code and they won’t let me in with a t-shirt. DOH! Ok, I wish I would’ve known this before hand. Anyway so I find a sweater in my car that hasn’t been washed in 1.5 years, I slap it on and they let me in.

There were about 20 companies there, about 4 of which were companies that had internships of interest to me (computer science related). I spent some time at the Sun table, which I think would be an excellent place to work. There were plenty of students around it at all times, however, so I wouldn’t count on any internship from them.

One place that I thought was interesting was the Navy recruiter they had there. He made it sound really enticing, their cryptology and intelligence departments. Talked about how they’d pay me $2400 per month during school for nothing if I signed on for a 4 year contract afterwards. I think that would be an interesting thing to do as well… sounds fun to me at least. Kessa didn’t really like that idea, heh.
